POPE PIUS XII ISSUED THE LETTER
‘EXULTA LUSITANIA FELIX’ WHICH DECLARED ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA AS DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH

After the Second World War on January 16th,1946, Pope Pius XII with the Apostolic Letter Exsulta, Lusitania felix (‘Rejoice, happy Portugal’) declared that St Anthony was a Doctor of the Church with the title “Doctor Evangelicus”.
